A Future Built on Justice and Inclusion

Disability justice recognises that people experience disability in different ways and that barriers can exist within our communities, systems and society.

At Gallawah Foundation, we believe meaningful change begins with listening to lived experience, respecting individual identities and challenging the barriers that prevent people from participating fully in community life.

We want to contribute to a society where dignity, equality, accessibility and belonging are not privileges, but fundamental expectations.

Our Impact

Empowering communities

The Gallawah Foundation uses a holistic approach to focus on addictive patterns and behaviours that impede positive actions, relationships, and lifestyles. Through a weekly timetable, participants develop self-esteem, self-awareness, community connections, and independence, therapeutic programs, and peer support workshops in a safe and structured environment.

Whether you have a specific skill set or just a desire to make a positive impact, we welcome you to join us.

Rights and Equality

Every person deserves dignity, respect, equal opportunity and the freedom to make decisions about their own life.

Accessibility and Inclusion

Communities should be welcoming and accessible, with barriers identified and challenged so people can participate meaningfully.

Voice and Representation

People with disabilities must have opportunities to share their experiences, influence decisions and help shape the conversations that affect them.

Culture and Belonging

Identity, culture, relationships and community connection matter. Disability justice must recognise the different experiences, backgrounds and strengths of individuals.

Nothing About Us Without Us

People with disabilities have the right to be heard, respected and involved in decisions that affect their lives.

Their experiences, knowledge and perspectives are essential to understanding barriers and creating meaningful change.

We believe disability justice must be informed by lived experience, with people with disabilities recognised as leaders, advocates and active participants in shaping a more equitable society.

Change Begins With Connection

Building a more inclusive society takes awareness, collaboration and a willingness to challenge the way things have always been done.

Through conversations, community connections and a commitment to disability justice, we want to encourage greater understanding and contribute to positive change.
